PSAC donates Beef to Local Food Banks
Clients of food banks in Charlottetown and Summerside will benefit from the annual Easter Beef Auction. The PSAC and the Agriculture Component purchased one of the prize steers. Gary Paynter, President of PSAC Agriculture Local 90004, said the union is promoting the beef industry on P.E.I. through this donation. “We represent technicians and inspectors from the Island, so it’s important to support them.”
The donation not only provides the union with an opportunity to donate to the Island’s food banks, but it also serves as a gesture of goodwill towards the beef industry and underlines
the service the Canadian Food Inspection Agency provides to the public, Paynter said in a statement.
The union participated in the same auction last year and hope to make this an annual event.
Each package of meat will have stickers indicating the beef was donated by PSAC.
We have launched a contest for PEI members. Here is your chance to win some great prizes while getting our think public message out to the public and our politicians. Contest details
